Foothills residents may have noticed smoke lingering in the air in Aldersyde on Thursday morning.

According to the Okotoks Fire Department the smoke was caused by a controlled burn.

The Okotoks FD confirmed with the MD of Foothills that the burn was known about.

The fire department would like to thank residents for their concern.
