The Towns of Turner Valley and Black Diamond continue to hammer out the details around their planned amalgamation.

While the two already share plenty of services, with more of that cooperation on the way, Turner Valley Mayor Gary Rowntree isn't sure they'll be able to get all the details worked out before the 2021 civic election.

"Realistically I can't see it to be completed (by then). Would I like to see it completed? Yes. But again, probably once we decide to move ahead with that, there's probably an 18 month span there that we'd have to work through before it was completed."

He says it's more likely to be in time for the 2025 civic election before the two town's can look to become one.
