Not a big surprise that Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson has some choice words for the NDP after their third quarter budget update Thursday, February 23.

They're still predicting a $10.8 billion deficit and Anderson says we can expect even more down the road.

"There's no reason whatsoever to have this kind of deficit. And once again they've gone back with Orders in Council to increase their borrowing limits. Right now they're at $10.8 billion. It's probably going to end up being about $12.3 billion in borrowing.

The idea of a Provincial Sales Tax was even mentioned, which got Anderson up on the horse again.

"They'll dangle that cookie out there again as long as they can. And then after they stop hitting you with the bat, they'll take it away. Because they're not going to bring a sales tax in. They already did. It's called the Carbon Tax!"

Anderson says the NDP need to spend more time on getting their spending under control and reduce billions of red ink in their budget.
