Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson with Wildrose leader Brian Jean

The Wildrose caucus has been meeting in Medicine Hat this week.

Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson says it's been a great chance to recharge the batteries and get ready for the fall session.

"Oh, stronger and better every day, this is such a fabulous team," he says. "We're getting ready for the next sitting, I think it's scheduled for October 26 and that's when the government will be presenting its budget. But our caucus has never been stronger, we've got a full complement of staff and we're just raring to go to take on the role of the Official Opposition."

He says it's inconceivable that the government has not been able to put together a budget in the last seven months but its members have had time to campaign for their federal counterparts.

He says waiting is hurting everyone.

"The uncertainty around climate change and carbon tax, potential royalty review, I mean increasing corporate tax by 20 per cent, increasing minimum wage by 50 per cent, there's a lot of people are very uncomfortable and having a budget delayed for so long, just because it's a federal election, and they think they're potentially going to help their federal counterparts" Anderson says.

He calls the lack of a budget total irresponsible.
