Anderson Takes Oath
It's been a busy few months since Wayne Anderson Took the Oath

The first session of the legislature under an NDP Government wrapped up last week in Edmonton.

There were plenty of fireworks during the session, and Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson was pleased with the way the Wildrose opposition worked together.

"It was 32 days of session, probably one of the longest in the house, if you check the records, but it was long, it was hard, but, I'll tell you we worked, 7:30 in the morning was our first meeting and most nights till well after midnight so the last two weeks it's been pretty taxing on our time and our sleep too," the rookie MLA says.

He says Bill 6 really helped to bring together opposing forces whether they were inside or outside of government.

"Our caucus jelled considerably and you could see all the strength of all the individuals coming forward, but being a mostly rural-based caucus we got our message out fairly quickly, " he says. "But it's not just us, it's the people in our constituencies received the message and reacted to it well, extremely well."

Anderson also gave kudos to their staff who stayed as late as the MLAs did during the session.
