The annual Southern Alberta Highway Clean up goes Saturday, May 6.

Groups from 4-H, Junior Forest Rangers and others will be busy on all of the highways in Southern Alberta cleaning them up after a long, dirty winter.

Corporal Curtis Peters with the Southern Alberta RCMP wants everyone to know to keep an eye out for the kids and adults helping out.

"We try to do our part to get the word out and encourage everybody to slow down. You can expect to see a lot of kids and adults in the ditches around Southern Alberta this Saturday as they take part of the clean up. So we're hoping that everybody slows down, takes their time going through those areas. Just keeps their eyes open and make's sure everyone gets through the weekend safe."

In all 12-thousand volunteers will be taking part cleaning ditches and roads in Southern Alberta.
