Bad news for this weekend's planned reopening of the swimming pool at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex in High River.

The pool has been closed for several months as much needed repairs were made and now that the water is in, the pool has sprung a leak, or two, or more.

Town Manager Tom Maier says a crew will be there on Wednesday, February 13 to figure out what is going on.

"We filled the pool up with water, that occurred last week and it has been identified that we have a slow leak where the water is dropping in height in the pool," said Maier.

The Town has a leak detection firm out of Calgary coming on Wednesday, to hopefully identify where the leak is coming from.

Maier says unfortunately, it's going to push back the opening of the pool so it might be March or April before the pool now re-opens.

"It's a set back. It is something that the community has been looking forward to. I personally have been looking forward to it. I got all my swim stuff ready last week, my goggles out, made sure I had them in my bag."

The other set back is for the swim programs, registration was starting Wednesday, February 13 as well.

"So that is going to be set back at least a month or a month-and-a-half."
