An arrest has been made in the case of an attempted robbery that took place at the Bank of Montreal in Okotoks last month.

Okotok General Investigation Section was able to identify the suspect and issued an arrest warrant on Thursday.

According to RCMP, Calgary Police Service Robbery and Tactical Units arrested Cody Lebeuf, 27, and transported him to Okotoks.

Lebeuf is facing charges of two counts of robbery as well as possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and disguise with intent.

The charges come from the incident in Okotoks on November 22 and a robbery in Chestermere on November 14.

Cpl. Darryl Dawkins, Okotoks GIS, says the crime was solved in part with the assistance of tips from the public following a media release.

"We appreciate that level of community engagement. Once again, we are pleased to thank our partner the Calgary Police Service who provided valuable support in this investigation."

A judicial interim release hearing for Lebeuf is pending.
