The NDP Government has a lot of work to do to regain of the trust of many Albertans after the problems with Bill 6, the farm workers protection act.

That's according to Highwood Wildrose MLA Wayne Anderson.

He says it not just with rural voters either.

"A lot of the urban people started writing us notes saying 'we're not farmers but we're on your side because this is wrong, it's being rushed too quickly' it was confrontation not consultation and they refused to consult with anybody, " Anderson says. "It's all about, I think, going after a certain end of our culture, our lifestyle and trying to unionize farm workers if they can."

A poll released just last week showed the NDP still out in front in Alberta but Wildrose and the PCs were very close behind and nearly tied.

He's not totally opposed to the idea of uniting the right again.

"We've got two conservative parties, obviously now the Wildrose is the one that's got the most seats in the house, we've gained a considerable amount of momentum with-in one year, consider what we can do in the next three years," he says. "The doors are open for some of the organizers and some of the good people on the Conservative party's side to at least sit down and have a chat with us."

Anderson's confident Wildrose will be in a better spot the next time a poll's done.
