The Crescent Point Field House received a generous donation from ATCO Gas Thursday afternoon.

ATCO cut a cheque for $15,000 that will go towards to the new info monitors at the Field House.

Senior Manager of Calgary Region Operations for ATCO Kelly McCann says it's money well spent.

"We want to have a visible presence in the communities where we live and work, we realize these recreational facilities are far more than just a spot for sports. They typically become the hub of activity and the heart of the community," he says. "We do have staff that live and work here and we've got a presence so it was just a natural fit to be here."

Deputy Mayor of the M.D. of Foothills Ted Mills says the money will sufficiently help the field house get their monitors purchased and installed.

"It's wonderful to have that support from the community and especially ATCO in these times where they're stepping up to help us on all of this is fantastic and we very much appreciate it."

Mills says the boards will help the field house run even smoother.

"We have a monitor board that gives us what is happening with all activities at the field house as well we have a corporate challenge that's coming up through the coming year and we're looking forward to putting monies towards that."
