For the third year in a row two local personalities are taking to the rooftop of the Okotoks Sobeys in support of the United Way.

Okotoks Mayor Bill Robertson and The Eagle 100.9's Logan Coutts will spend the rest of the weekend together braving the elements.

Dierdre Mullen of the Okotoks United Way says any donation throughout the next 48 plus hours stays within town to  help local organizations.

"Our goal this year is $10,000, we'd love to get more but the goal is $10,000," she says. "All the money that is raised in Okotoks stays in Okotoks," she says.

Mullen says any contribution helps.

"This year alone we gave over $86,000 to local organizations that need support there's a number of them. We gave money to about 13 agencies this year."

Robertson and Coutts made their way up to the roof at noon Friday with the help of the Okotoks Fire Department and have already seen some great contributions to the cause.

Mullen says you'll have plenty of opportunities to interact with the honourary roof dwellers.

"The Mayor is going to be here until noon on Sunday, Logan is going to stick it till four so if you have an opportunity to come down and give a donation inside the store that would be great. Today is a little chili but I do feel a Chinook, Saturday is supposed to be ten degrees and sunny while Sunday is supposed to be 12 and sunny."

There will be barbeque Saturday to help with the fundraising right in front of the Sobeys entrance.
