Last week's Council meeting on July 20 was a busy one with a variety of topics discussed, including secondary suites and urban hens and bees.

But Mayor Craig Snodgrass was quick to point out that not one item on the agenda was flood-related.

"This is a very, very good sign that we're dealing with stuff like this and it's important that we deal with stuff like this," he says.

Snodgrass says having everyday issues on the agenda is a step in the right direction.

"Are we very busy dealing with rebuilding and flood-related issues? Yes. But we also have to take the time to deal with normality too."
