Alberta Premier Rachel Notley and Prime Minister Stephen Harper spent some time together this week, and money for flood mitigation was on the agenda.

Premier Notley is looking for around $600-million in additional funding, and MacLeod M.P. John Barlow says despite any political differences it's important the two levels of government work together.

"It's a new government in Alberta, but we still have to be partners. Especially with projects such as the flood mitigation for High River, Black Diamond, Turner Valley and Bragg Creek. A lot of these communities still have some work to do."

Barlow says the Federal Government has been working closely with the Province since the floods and he doesn't expect that to change.
