Parliament resumes sitting this Thursday, December for the first time since October's federal election.

Foothills M.P. John Barlow will move from the government to the opposition side of the house, but says he's ok with that as his party has a plan in place for holding the Liberals feet to the fire.

"We're going to be working extremely hard to ensure that the policies and programs put forth by this government will benefit all of Canada. Obviously with things that are going on in Alberta, with the downturn in the energy industry and also with some of the changes that are being proposed to the agriculture industry. We want to ensure for myself and my Alberta colleagues, that Alberta has a very strong voice at the Federal level."

The Fall session will only last for a little over a week as the Liberals will likely introduce an interim budget and push through their plans to bring in Syrian refugees before ending the session for the Christmas break.
