Two people have been arrested and charged with the shooting deaths of six people and injuring 19 more at a Quebec City Mosque Sunday, January 29.

Foothills MP John Barlow had just left the city following a weekend of caucus meetings with fellow Conservatives.

"It was my first time in Quebec City. Loved the city, people were so friendly and we made a lot of new friends and to see something like this happen just a couple of hours after we leave. It really hits home. When it happens somewhere so close to home."

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told the House of Commons Monday afternoon "make no mistake, this was a terrorist attack."

The PM will visit Quebec City later Monday.
