Foothills MP John Barlow along with Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson hosted two open houses last week to collect some feedback on rural crime issues.

Barlow says he heard one message loud and clear.

"People are very frustrated that they're getting hit over and over again by the same people. Because they're getting a slap on the wrist, they're not getting some really stiff deterrents to do these types of things. So, I think on the federal side that's something that we can try to address."

Barlow and Anderson will be putting together a report from the meetings to take back to their respective levels of governments in hopes of making improvements.
