Nanton's Lynda Curlette is $250,000 richer thanks to her habit of buying lottery tickets.

She won the money playing the "EXTRA" in the July 22 Lotto 6/49 drawing.

She says winning that kind of money puts you "over the moon."

"Very, very over the Moon! But I have to tell you that I got an extra three dollars at the end of those zero's, because I won a free ticket as well, but they don't give it to you when you go up to St. Albert. So they put it on the cheque, making the total $250,003!"

She says her health isn't the greatest, and had already been planning to sell her house to move to Calgary and live with her daughter.

But she says she can't leave Nanton without giving something back first.

"You know the Town has been pretty good to me, so I kind of went around and you know, gave some money to the Bomber Command Museum, and helped out with the back-pack program and the swim club and the Lions (Club), and that kind of thing. So I figure I've been here for 11 years, they've been really good to me I should probably give back a little. So that's what I did!"

She says the rest of the money, plus the sale of her house, will help her and her daughter by a better home in Calgary.
