Many schools are out in the last week of June or the first week of July, and that can cause stress for parents.

Often parents find themselves in a bind when it comes to childcare during the summer, as it's a challenge to work a full time job and look after the kids.

Recreation, Administration, and Programming Supervisor at High River's Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex, Tracy Morgan, says not only do they have plenty of programs to keep kids occupied this Summer, they have plenty of room too.

"We have lots going on here, we have drop-in programs, we have swimming lessons, and we also have our day camps."

Morgan says their day camps have been rebranded this year.

"We're calling it "Play Parks And Rec Camps," and we have pre-school camps available for three to five year olds, and then older camps for six to twelve year olds, as well as specialty options available for the six to twelve year old age groups."

Morgan says they offer many programs for parents who need to find childcare for the summer.

"Perfect for parents whether or not they're looking for a day here or a day there, or whether they're looking for a full week, or all nine weeks. We have lots of different options for working parents that need to find care for their children during the day."

Morgan says it's around $70 to $85 a week for the half a day, day camps.

Morgan says the Rec-Plex is pretty flexible when it comes to their Summer programs.

"We try and keep our camps as low in cost as possible, and we also have the option for parents to drop their children off early. A lot of camps only run nine to four, and we offer a warm up care which starts at 7:30 a.m., and a cool down care which goes until 5:30 p.m. for parents that might be commuting from another place to come back into High River."

Morgan says there's a rumour going around town that the Rec-Plex is full, but that is absolutely not the case.
