The Alberta Urban Municipalities Association conference has wrapped up leaving some questions to be answered.

High River Mayor Craig Snodgrass says the town was represented by CAO Tom Maier.

Snodgrass says the organization's concerned about word the province may use portions of the Building Canada Fund to pay down the debt.

"They're not happy with that and (Calgary) Mayor Nenshi's wondering where his cut of the action is and a few others," he says. "I've got my own concerns with the Centre Street Bridge project and we were hoping to get some money out of that BCF fund to do something there but the province has other projects that they've got on the go."

He says the bridge replacement is really more a matter of flood mitigation more so than infrastructure.

I'm not surprised that we didn't get anything out of the Building Canada money because in my mind, and I've said this to the Province, that this is a flood mitigation project, it's not just randomly replacing the bridge or anything. It's part of the whole program that we've got to see through and get it finished up."

Snodgrass says he hopes it gets allocated into the province's budget which will be released March 16.
