High River is reaping the rewards of a couple of early Fall events that bring thousands of people to town.

The River City Classics Show and Shine and the Heritage Inn International Hot Air Balloon Festival assure visitors are busy spending money in High River in large amounts.

That's music to the ears of High River Chamber of Commerce President, Steven Muth.

"Both of those events, the Show and Shine and the Balloon Festival attract a lot of people from across Alberta and the country and the United States and everywhere else and puts High River on the map. You know, I was out Saturday night for the Burn Out and whatnot, downtown was full. Same thing with the Show and Shine. So anything that brings people to town is a positive aspect for business owners in this town."

Muth says it's not make or break for any businesses, but it is a significant part of their bottom lines.
