Many people love the holiday's because the communities, businesses, and people all come together to help those in need.

C.I.R Realty in Okotoks is joining in the festivities by partnering with the Salvation Army Toy Drive in High River.

Jacky Vanderven, a Realtor with C.I.R Realty in Okotoks says she has seen first hand the difficulties that many Foothills families are going through this year.

"We see a lot of people struggling.  There's still people buying or selling, that's not the problem, but it's tough!" Vanderven says "It's tough for a lot of people who've lost their jobs to pay their mortgage, to pay their bills, and to support their families."

For those looking to donate, Vanderven says toys are welcome for all ages.

"They have to be new and go from babies up to teenagers - sometimes people miss the teenagers. People can drop them off at our C.I.R Office in Okotoks behind the Dairy Queen."

Vanderven and her colleagues are so committed to the cause she says they will even pick up your donations.

"If people don't have the time or don't have a car, contact any of us and we'll pick them up!"

Vanderven says the toys donated by residents will stay in the Foothills and go locally to our neighbours in need.

"The Toy Drive is for kids that are in need, families that don't have a lot of money and with this economy there's probably a lot. It's for Okotoks and surrounding areas (The Foothills) and kids that probably won't get toys will hopefully get them through us."

Donations will be accepted at the Okotoks C.I.R Realty office until Dec. 5.  Toys must be new, and unwrapped and will be accepted for all ages.
