Chestermere RCMP are investigating after a fight at a party turned into a firearm offence early Sunday Morning.

On October 29, at approximately 5 a.m. Chestermere RCMP were dispatched to a complaint where shots were fired in the Westmere Neighbourhood in Chestermere.

The investigation revealed a fight occurred at the residence during a party. As a result the suspect was ejected from the residence. As he left, the offender produced a firearm and fired in the direction of the residence striking a parked vehicle and the residence. The offender fled the scene in a vehicle prior to police arrival. Nobody was injured as a result.
 
The investigation identified the offender as Jeevan Parhar, a 20 year old resident of Calgary. Charges were laid and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. Parhar was located in Calgary by Calgary Police Service in an unrelated matter on October 31, at approximately 1 a.m.

Parhar was arrested in connection with this incident and turned over to Chestermere RCMP.
 
Parhar remains in custody and is facing charges of Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Using a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Pointing a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, and Failure to Comply with Release Conditions. The investigation is ongoing which may result in additional charges. Parhar's next appearance will be in Calgary court on November 1, 2017.
