No campfires if you're heading to Banff this long weekend for some camping.

The National Park is a no burn zone as is the town of Banff as they've brought in a fire ban for the weekend due to the extreme fire danger in the region.

There are no fire bans in the Foothills area, however Vulcan County does have a fire restriction in place.

So, if you're heading to McGregor, Travers, or Little Bow Lakes to do some camping this weekend that fire restriction will affect you.

It does mean you can still have a campfire, but only in an approved fire ring.

For those heading west, hoping to go to Radium or Invermere, you're out of luck as Highway 93 between the Alberta border and Radium remains closed in both directions due to wildfires in the area.

You can still get there via Highway 3 to the South, or Highway 95 through Golden.
