A man who's devoted much of his life to the study of the Majorville Medicine Wheel in Vulcan County will be extolling its virtues Friday night in Vulcan.

Gord Freeman has written a book called Canada's Stonehenge and Hidden Stonehenge which explains what he believes is a sun dial.

"The message of the book is that the Indians, 5,000 years ago on the prairie had scientific genius, but they had a different philosophy, which means that they are part of nature, not masters of nature," he says.

He says over the years he's walked more than 600 miles in the area around the sun dial.

Freeman says the government has reclassified the land, basically including the area depicted in the back of his book.

He'll be speaking at the Trek station in Vulcan Friday May 12 at 7:30 p.m..
