The Museum of the Highwood is hoping lots of community members to come out and celebrate Cinco de Mayo on Saturday May 6.

The Mexican celebration is held each year to celebrate a military victory from May 5,1862, but the party at the Museum is a day late.

Irene Kerr, Director at the Museum of the Highwood, says it is going to be fun.

Liz Vigueras plans the event every year for the Museum.

"We like to do that every year," said Kerr. " I'm not really sure what she has planned for us this year but it always includes music and dance."

It is one of Kerr's favourite events because she learns a lot about Mexican traditions.

"I love going to it."

The event goes from 2  to 4 P.M. at the Museum.
