Looks like the Centre Street Bridge in High River's going to be closed for a long stretch this week.

After some back and forth over dates, the Town says the bridge will close Tuesday, July 24 and stay closed Wednesday, July 25, and Thursday, July 26.

It's all to accommodate work on the flood gate and give crews an extra day to ensure underground utilities aren't being damaged.

The Town suggests using 5th Street S.E. to 498th Avenue as an alternate route.

You can also take 20th Avenue N.E. to 498th.

The Town hopes to have the flood gate construction wrapped up by late October.
