The Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses is giving some rare praise to the Provincial NDP Government of Rachel Notley.

The Premier hinted Tuesday she may be looking to cut taxes for small business in the April 14 budget.

CFIB Alberta Director Amber Ruddy says actually making it happen will send a message the Province is focused on the needs of entrepreneurs.

"Entrepreneurs are saying that their total tax burden is the number one challenge their facing in their business. So the fact that the Premier has come forward and said that we should keep out eyes open on the budget for these kind of measures is a very positive step. Entrepreneurs are in a position where they need all the help they can get and this would create significant positive spinoff's within the economy."

Ruddy says they're cautiously optimistic of the cuts, but will be waiting to see what happens when the budget comes out next month.
