The Town of High River and the MD of Foothills have signed an agreement which will see the MD taking over Municipal Enforcement for the Town staring Monday, June 4.

The MD will use existing Community Level One Peace Officers to perform traffic enforcement services and add two additional Level Two officers to perform general enforcement services for the Town of High River.

Manager of Protective Services for the Town, Peter Genereux, says the agreement is officially in effect as of Monday, June 4, but the new services will not be in place until staff have received training and equipment requirements are fulfilled.

The partnership will save money for both the MD and Town residents, and adds depth of resources to the existing department.

Once everything's in place, residents will get new contact information for complaints and or information requests for Foothills Patrol Community Peace Officers.

High River Town Council will hear the details of the new plan at their regularly scheduled Council meeting, Monday, May 14.
