A Calgary man is dead after a climbing accident earlier this week in Kananaskis Country.

RCMP were called out when the climber was reported overdue on Tuesday, May 24, after setting out Monday, May 23 to climb Mt. Lawson.

Mounties found his vehicle on a nearby access road, and his body a short time later.

They think he may have triggered a small avalanche during his climb.

The Calgary Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy.
