If you're looking to get into the Beachwood Estates neighbourhood in Southwest High River, you'll have to go down 12th Avenue now.

The Town has closed the MacLeod Trail entrance to the area as they're filling in the gap in the existing berm across MacLeod Trail.

Engineering Coordinator with the Town Jim Duckworth says before they can build up, they have to dig down.

"There's a slight hump in there right now with some old fill material. That'll be taken down to the original asphalt, and then the original asphalt will be taken down another foot to original ground, and then we'll start building up from there."

Duckworth says when they're done in August, the berm will line up with the one's on either side in height and width.

In the meantime, he says the three remaining residents of Beachwood will have to use the old service road to the West to access 12th Avenue to get in and out of their homes.
