Community Futures Highwood has been making the rounds reminding businesses in the Foothills they are here to help.

They recently held presentations for High River Town Council and the High River Chamber of Commerce.

Business Analyst Ursula Sherwood says they're reminding people they're here to help and their services are free.

"Our three mandated courses are business mentoring, business counselling and business financing," said Sherwood. "We will sit down with you and go through your idea and work out what the next steps are. How you can make your dream a reality."

Part of their mandate is community economic development.

"Part of that is working with the Chambers in our region and with the business organizations that are in our regions."

That includes the colleges and career groups as well as the Towns and the Municipal Districts.

They also have a youth program where they can give teens 14 to 18 small business loans to run their own business over the summer.

"You can come to us, 14 to 18 years old, we will sit down with you and talk about it and see if we can set you up for the summer. We call it creative self employment for you to run your own business and earn your own money."
