The Community Piano is back for the summer and it has a brand new look.

Artist Barb Chaput has added her touch to the instrument which needs to be seen to be appreciated.

Volunteer Bruce Masterman says he saw another piano Chaput painted and knew it was something they needed to do to the one downtown.

"I love music and I love hearing music downtown," said Masterman. "I love the spontaneity of the Community Piano. People just sit down and they just start playing and people just gather or they stop what they are doing and they slow down a little. I love that it has that effect."

Masterman says he hopes the paint job is a nice surprise that people will enjoy, along with the music.

"To me it was a great community project before it was painted. I think it is even nicer now it has turned into not just community music but public art as well that hopefully people will enjoy."
