The Foothills Regional Victim Services is hosting a two day conference to help end domestic violence.

Team member Merridell Richardson says the event featuring Jeffrey S Bucholtz, M.A. could help a lot of people.

He is the director of We End Violence and outgoing president of the San Diego Domestic Violence Council.

His services address painful issues like sexual assault, bullying, sexual harassment and relationship violence in a format that is easily accessible to different audiences and is action/solution oriented.

Richardson says the two day conference could help emergency workers and others.

"Anyone dealing with the public where you might get information on domestic violence," said Richardson. "This will just give you some tools on how to handle situations."

They have invited emergency workers including nurses, police, firefighters and ambulance personnel, but the conference is open to anyone who might want to come.

"There's people who work in human resources that probably deal with situations like this through work that would benefit with the knowledge of how to properly handle or assess the situation and go forward,"

She added it is going to be a great conference with a wealth of information.

The conference runs October 19th and 20th at the Foothills Centennial Centre. The $250 cost includes breakfast and lunch for both days.
