The Red Tail Rise development in High River's Southwest will finally start construction this Spring.

Developer Les Rempel says it's been a long time coming.

"It's been almost three years of planning and process to get to this stage and we're ready now for this Summer's activity. We're looking forward to getting to work after a hard winter. We've got the registration process going right now and then we'll be into Spring work on the site."

He says the first step is tying in things like water, sewer, gas and power and then building roads before they start working on the homes.

He says for now the land remains in the M.D. of Foothills, but is in the process of being annexed by the Town.

Rempel says it takes about six months to build the larger, estate homes, which means the first homeowners should be able to move in in about a year.
