Turner Valley has it's new Mayor.

Barry Crane was acclaimed as the Town's Mayor Monday, February 25, about a month after former Mayor Gary Rowntree unexpectedly stepped down from the job.

Crane says he's ready to go.

"I'm quite pleased. Looking forward to getting back at it right away here, Monday, March 4th, we'll have the swearing in at the next Council meeting. It's nice to not have to run, to be honest. I look at it as 70 per cent of the population voted for me the last time. So, I'm assuming the same people want me to continue on the path that we've set."

Crane says his first order of business will be to pass the Town's budget.
