A busy day so far for local emergency services, particularly those out of Okotoks.

A number of vehicles have gone off the road on Tongue Creek Road west of High River.

Corners are especially slippery and two tow trucks are on the scene getting vehicles back on the road where possible.

Drivers report the dump road is also in bad shape.

Stuart Brideaux with Alberta Health Services says they had a few accidents to deal with in the MD of Foothills.

Two on highway 549.

One involved a school bus that was involved in a minor collision, but he says no one was injured in that crash.

He says there was another minor accident on 549, and then one on Highway 22 near Millarville and another on 16th Street and 258th Avenue north of Okotoks.

Both of those involved some non-life threatening injuries that required trips to hospital in Calgary for those involved.

So far no advisories and warnings from local RCP detachments, although High River RCMP are asking people to use caution and common sense if they need to go out today.

Strathmore RCMP have closed the Trans-Canada Highway from Calgary to Bassano.

Mounties in Ponoka say Highway 2 north of Calgary is in bad shape and are advising against driving particularly between Innisfail and Ponoka.

While Beiseker Mounties say Highway 9 towards Drumheller is in bad shape as well.
