Christ The Redeemer School Division will soon be without an Associate Superintendent.

After 22 years in Catholic education, Dr. Bonnie Annicchiarico has announced her retirement.

Throughout her career in education, Annicchiarico's also been a music teacher, junior high teacher, and principal.

She says outside of being able to work for CTR from their central office, a highlight in her career was her time in Brooks.

"In 1996 I was the first Principal of Brooks first Catholic school, Holy Family Academy, and that was an incredible challenge and rewarding experience to set up a new school and be part of the founding group that established Catholic education in that community."

Annicchiarico says while some factors within education have changed, the foundation has stayed the same.

"Technology's brought new factors into play, our curriculum has evolved, our new young teachers are part of the new generation, and all of those are dynamics that are at play but foundationally I think why we go to school and what we care about and how we interact with each other has not changed in the years I've been an educator."

When asked about retirement plans she say she hopes to do some travelling, spend time with family, and see how she can still be involved with education in some capacity in the future.

Annicchiarico's last day with CTR is June 30.

The division has stated they'll make an announcement on Annicchiarico's replacement in the next two weeks.
