There were a ton of events to take part in as High River artists and performers took part in the 10th annual culture days.

Pottery Studio owner and artist Connie Pike says the event is important to let the Foothills community know just how many talented people live in the Foothills area.

"I think we need to do a little more to promote it," said Pike. "It is important for the artists to get together and know each other. And it is good for the community to know what is happening in the community."

Mel McCracken was demonstrating the art of calligraphy with the Highwood United Calligraphy Group at the Art and Soul gallery.

She adds it is a chance to let everyone know about the vibrant arts community in town.

"I think Culture days gives people a chance to get out there and see all the wonderful art and programs that are available to them in High River and there are a lot of them. I just think it opens up peoples eyes to what is right at their fingertips for classes and galleries," McCracken said.

Artist and Art and Soul Gallery owner Annie Froese says the event is important to promote talent in the Foothills.

"When I think about culture, and art and culture days it celebrates everything that talks to creativity."

There were many events over the weekend including musical performances, art displays, gallery open houses, line dancing, Mexican dancing, and author readings.
