Response has been overwhelming with the new group Dads Central in High River.

Organizer Taylor Norum says their philosophy is simple.

"It's really just a place where Dads and male role models that are in kids lives can come and hang out together but also spend quality time with their kids."

He says the main goal is to help Dads be a positive influence in their child's life.

"We'll give away books that Dads can read their kids or we'll give them ideas so they can spend time with them and, I've also had Dads come up to me and ask about behavioral issues and speech and language and we can help them with that as well."

He says you don't have to Dad to participate he says all male role models are welcomed and adds they see brothers, uncles and grandfathers getting involved too.

"We knew that the need was there as there wasn't a lot of things Dads could bring their kids to, we weren't sure if this would catch but it has."

He says they will be taking a break over Christmas but will be starting back up in the New Year.
