There was a fatal climbing incident in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park over the weekend.

On Sunday, June 3 just before 5:30 p.m., Kananaskis RCMP assisted Alberta Parks in responding to a report of a man who fell while climbing near Rawson Lake.

Around 3:45 that afternoon the man stumbled on ice and snow falling about 50 feet.

Police say the man died from the fall.

RCMP say the name of the 58-year-old from Calgary will not be released.
