The latest 2016 census figures are out for age distribution and dwelling units.

Statistics Canada says in High River specifically there are 2,520 people, 14 years of age and under.

There are 8,095 people between 15 and 64 years of age and 2,970 who are 65 years of age and older.

The average age of High Riverittes is 42.3 years.

The split between males and females is close.

Of the 13,585 people counted, 6,865 are women and 6,715 are men, a difference of two percentage points.

There are 5,370 dwelling units with 2,745 of them single detached homes.
