RCMP are reminding drivers taking pictures with a cell phone while driving is distracted driving, especially when driving past a fatal crash.
Redcliff RCMP were on the scene of a single vehicle collision south of Elkwater on the morning on Thursday, August 24 where a 46 year-old man from Medicine Hat was killed after failing to negotiate a curve in the road.
During the investigation, the driver of a vehicle coming through the scene was seen by police taking photographs, and was given a ticket for distracted driving.
Police said not only is it illegal to take pictures while driving, it is unsafe and disrespectful when driving through a collision scene to be taking photographs of a scene under investigation.
