Despite the fact the Towns of Turner Valley and Black Diamond have been studying the issue of amalgamation since February of 2016, don't expect to see it on the ballot this October.

Turner Valley Mayor Kelly Tuck says she doesn't think they'll be able to make it happen before the 2021 civic elections.

"There's a process we have to follow through the Municipal Government Act. And we'll see what happens, I'm sure there's going to be lots of questions around amalgamation, so we'll go from there."

Tuck says there's a lot of conversations and feedback that needs to happen from the community before they can move forward with bringing the Towns together.
