A social media posting on Tuesday lead to a stockpile of supplies that will be shipped down to Pincher Creek on September 13th.

Nanton Fire Chief John G Dozeman says the post reached over 22,000 people and was shared 350 times in just a few hours.

"We had a firefighters wife from Nanton and one from High River take the initiative and a post went out over social media and it just exploded," said Dozeman.

They are still accepting donations but for the moment the fire hall is full, there is a full shipment going to Pincher Creek Wednesday afternoon.

If enough donations come in they will send a second load and if the donations are not used up by the firefighters they will make sure the supplies get to people that need them, like the evacuation centres.

"The response is just incredible. We have so much water and snacks and Gatorade it is just incredible."

The post was viewed by over 22,000 people and shared 350 times.
