Okotoks will be transforming in a magical world this weekend.

People are invited to dress as their favourite favourite magical and mythical characters as they enjoy all the activities Enchanted Okotoks has to offer, like watching knights fight in Ethel Tucker Park, visiting a unicorn, the fairy garden, and artisan market.

Katie Fournell, Organizer, says they have created a fun way to help make sure visitors check out a variety of local businesses.

"All of the businesses that have signed up have been assigned one of three realms. We have the Magic Realm, the Fairy Realm, and the Adventure Realm. If you visit two businesses that are in each realm then you and get an initial when you visit them then you can bring the map to the Okotoks Arts Council Command Centre and we will let you enter your name into a draw for a whole bunch of goodies."

Visitors can also take part in the OAC Epic Quest, which is described as an Amazing Race meets Dungeons and Dragons challenge, where teams enter for $20 the day of at the James Lozinksy Law Office.

Fournell says Enchanted Okotoks goes from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. on Saturday but recommends people come early.

"People should come earlier, the businesses have been prepared for 18,000 people but...come earlier in the day so you get to experience more of it and take more of it in because there is always that chance the businesses will sell out of the things they're doing and then next year they'll bring even more in."

Those from Calgary have the option of taking the Enchanted Bus to Okotoks.
