While a lot of folks in our neck of the woods may not shed a tear at the retirement of Former NDP Leader and current Transportation Minister Brian Mason next year, at least one former Mayor will.

Former Nanton Mayor Rick Everett has nothing but positive things to say about Mason after he announced he won't be running in the 2019 Provincial Election.

"All the time I was involved with Brian I found him the absolute gentleman. He knew his stuff, he was open to conversation and dialogue. And when you sat in front of him, to be honest, I never saw the words "NDP." I just saw somebody that had a concern, that was going to help you out and he was there to do it for us."

Everett says Mason was the driving force behind Nanton getting their new waste water treatment plant as quickly as they did, saying it wouldn't have happened without him.
