The annual closure of Highway 22 through Turner Valley goes this Friday (July 1) for the Canada Day Triathlon.

Officer Trevor Bowman with the Town's Bylaw Office says it shouldn't be a surprise to driver's heading through Turner Valley to K-Country for the long weekend, as they've had signs advertising the race on the highway, and it's date and times for the last three weeks.

"No, it shouldn't be. Canada Day every year, Turner Valley hold a triathlon. Highway 22, going through Turner Valley will be closed intermittently, as we're going to have to let the runners and cyclists though. We'll probably have significant delays. However we want people to get out and enjoy themselves. But keep in mind they need to slow down when they're passing the racers."

The Highway will have significant traffic delays between 7:30 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. Friday.
