Construction crews will be back near Centre Street Bridge in High River, but this time it will be around the Sobeys and Macleod Trail S.W. intersection.

On Tuesday December 11 at 9 a.m.,crews will be decommissioning four old groundwater monitoring wells at the intersection and installing two new ones on the eastern pedestrian pathway.

Groundwater wells allow for the measurement of quantity and quality of groundwater in the area and may be used to prevent sediment or chemical build up in the locations they are installed in.

Flaggers and signage will help drivers through the area and the construction crews will assist pedestrians walking across the path.

The construction will require a modification of the southbound lane and the eastbound left turning lane (towards to the Sobeys parking lot), so it's expected that traffic will be affected in both directions.

Crews expect the work to be completed on Wednesday, December 12 at 4:00 p.m.
