An extreme cold warning is in effect for High River and the Foothills area.
With windchills between -45 and -50 celcius, exposed skin can develop frostbite within minutes.
There will be some relief later in the afternoon with a windchill of only -24 expected, however the extreme cold will return overnight.
The temperature will drop to -29 overnight with a windchill of -40.
The good news is, it won't last long.
Sunday, March 3 will have the temperature warm up to a high of -14, and Monday will be sunny and -8.
