Everybody back into the pool - maybe not all at the same time.

There were a lot of disappointed people when the free family swim time on Sundays was cancelled at the Bob Snodgrass recreation complex.

Cheryl Merritt decided to do something about it after seeing a Facebook post and now the swim times are free for three more weeks starting July 23.

Merrit decided to do some investigating after seeing a suggestion from Alison Laycraft that few small businesses should get together and help out with the sponsorship.

She made a few calls found out how much it would take to pay for three weeks of swimming for three hours, put together a plan and added a Facebook post on the High River Respectful Rant and Rave page.

"That was 10:30 last (Thursday) night, and by 7:30 or 8 this morning we had raised enough money because everyone got on there and got donating."

There were 15 businesses that have offered to donate and they might be able to do more than three weeks of free swims.
